Need your help on dashboard design in specific.
1) I have already designed Xcelsius (Dashboard designer) for POC purpose based on excel data dump.
2) This dashboard has multiple combo selection, like Region, City, Vendor, Customer, Project type etc (10 in total with three different tabs / reports).
3) Since multiple combos are there, so I had to put excel indexing and more logic to filter out data based on selection.
4) In addition, we have to show top 5 customers based on Revenue as well.
Now, we need to take this POC Dashboard further and re-design / establish SQL source connectivity. Data is in large volume and initially, it will consist of 18Lac records (last 3-4 years transcation data) and then, delta of 200-300 records per day.
Our approach for re-design is as follows
1) Build a universe on top of this SQL table as a datasource.
2) Restrict data within the query for a year (approx. 70-80K).
3) Create QAAWS connection on top of the universe.
4) Give date range / quarterly / yearly selection in query filter. I will need guidance on how to build QTR selection, since dates are already available in SQL and Yearly is simple date filter removal.
5) Consume this QAAWS in Dashboard and then give further combos / filters to play around with the data.
6) If required, create another QAAWS for Top 5 customers and pass on combos / filter values to the second QAAWS.
Please suggest me on the approach and best solution.
