We are using a WEBI report block to drive a BI service into a Dashboard.
It is a BI service however exists under Query as a web svc tab in CMC.
Our servers are shutdown to perform a cold backup of the system
nightly, once the system is running again and we run the dashboard -
first time, it runs panfully slow, upwards of a minute to load the
results. The webi block is only 2 columns by about 20 rows and the webi
itself runs immediately. After you have run it the first time it runs
in under 10 seconds most times thereafter...until the next nightly shutdown takes
place.
This is not for the first user either, for each user the first time they
execute the dashboard it is slow. Looking in SAP BW there are no
processes in SM50 calling data so I installed HTTP watch. This
indicated that in all instances that loading the QaaWS was slow -
unless of course it has been run more than once that day already.
Are there some parameters or configuration that we are missing? Am looking into using the Getfromlatestuserinstance/getfromlatestdocumentinstace but would like to identify the cause of the BI service performing so slow first!
